ABOUT THIS ROLE
St. Michael’s is gathering candidates for various surge support positions for a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client’s financial management office. We are searching for candidates from All Experience Levels (from Junior to Subject Matter Expert) with Federal Financial Analysis Experience.
You will be in a client-facing role that will benefit from your leadership, problem solving, and expertise with the processes and systems used to support financial management operations across DHS. Our core value of Teamwork will be paramount to this role as you will work side by side with government personnel and a team of financial management experts providing support across our client’s multiple financial offices.
LOCATION
Primarily Remote – Candidate must be able to report to the client site located in the Washington, DC area when required

WHO YOU ARE
- Junior Level: Bachelor’s Degree in related area and 1 – 3 years of related experience.
- Mid-Level: Bachelor’s Degree in related area and 3 – 10 years of related experience.
- Senior Level: Master’s Degree (or Bachelor’s with additional 8 years of experience) in related area, 8+ years direct experience in specific field, and 5+ years’ experience leading and managing teams.
- Subject Matter Expert: Master’s Degree (or Bachelor’s with additional 8 years of experience) in related area, 20+ years of experience in field directly related to role.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively with a group or independently.
- Ability to read/interpret management policy, regulations, and directives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint.
- The ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance or currently have an active Public Trust Clearance (or higher).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform evaluations of the client billing process to support potential updates in the fee structure.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to Federal Staff in understanding and utilizing the modernized financial tools and processes.
- Provide support to client in responding to GAO recommendations and client progress and/or status for Leadership, MGMT, DHS, OMB, and other stakeholders and customers through quad chart reporting, project schedule development and maintenance, PowerPoints, issue papers, etc.
- Support communication outreach to client internal and external stakeholders and customers.
- Establish and administer standard operating procedures to advance financial management process improvement.
