ABOUT THIS ROLE
St. Michael’s is gathering candidates for various surge support positions for a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client’s financial management office. We are searching for candidates from All Experience Levels (from Junior to Subject Matter Expert) with Federal Financial Database Administration Experience.
You will be in a client-facing role that will benefit from your leadership, problem solving, and expertise with the processes and systems used to support financial management operations across DHS. Our core value of Teamwork will be paramount to this role as you will work side by side with government personnel and a team of financial management experts providing support across our client’s multiple financial offices.
LOCATION
Primarily Remote – Candidate must be able to report to the client site located in the Washington, DC area when required

WHO YOU ARE
- Junior Level: Bachelor’s Degree in related area and 1 – 3 years of related experience.
- Mid-Level: Bachelor’s Degree in related area and 3 – 10 years of related experience.
- Senior Level: Master’s Degree (or Bachelor’s with additional 8 years of experience) in related area, 8+ years direct experience in specific field, and 5+ years’ experience leading and managing teams.
- Subject Matter Expert: Master’s Degree (or Bachelor’s with additional 8 years of experience) in related area, 20+ years of experience in field directly related to role.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively with a group or independently.
- Ability to read/interpret management policy, regulations, and directives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint.
- The ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance or currently have an active Public Trust Clearance (or higher).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and executes various routine and emergent financial systems activities or assignments.
- Strong skillset in Federal IT terminology and reporting requirements, understanding of IT infrastructure, financial systems capabilities, modeling and/or analytics, communication, teamwork, leadership, and motivation.
- Knowledge in Budget, Revenue, Financial Management and Systems, and Modeling and/or Analytics.
- Completing requested deliverables, and control daily activities by constantly measuring, evaluating, and correcting daily, routine, and emerging activities.
- Providing constant status reports on all deliverables requested by the Division Directors, Assistant Directors, and Senior leadership.
- Ensuring proper and constant coordination is established with FMO staff with responsibilities over financial management systems for Revenue. Additionally, routinely interact with client IT staff on all items related to FMO’s responsibilities and/or oversight with systems used for its Revenue efforts.
- Expertise with Microsoft Access, Excel, and SharePoint, specifically how various databases are linked with SharePoint for reporting and dashboarding capabilities. Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly as they arise.
